The weather in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry has been dry for the past few days. In this situation, a low-level circulation is prevailing over the Indian Ocean and the adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal. Due to this, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain at one or two places in Kanyakumari, Nellai, Tenkasi and Thoothukudi districts today (Tuesday), the Meteorological Department has said.
Similarly, there is a possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in Virudhunagar, Sivaganga, Mayiladuthurai, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram districts and Karaikal areas today. Tomorrow (Wednesday), there is a possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in Kanyakumari, Nellai and Thoothukudi districts.
At the same time, the maximum temperature in Tamil Nadu will be up to 3 degrees Celsius above normal at a few places from March 12 (tomorrow) to 14, and there is a possibility of a heat wave during the summer, especially in Ranipet, Tirupattur, Vellore, Krishnagiri and Karur districts, starting from the end of April and continuing into May, the Meteorological Department has warned.
