AI-Generated S*x Video of ‘Archita Phukan’ Was Fake; Assam Man Held for Revenge Plot Against Ex

Archita Phukan: A seemingly glamorous Instagram persona named Babydoll Archi recently captivated millions across India, drawing attention for her bold videos and flawless digital presence. With a following exceeding 1.4 million and reels that often went viral, the account portrayed a woman named Archita Phukan, who danced, lip-synced, and modeled in fashionable attire.

But the truth was far from what the audience believed. Archita Phukan wasn’t real.

This online figure was a digital illusion—constructed using artificial intelligence tools and manipulated from a single image of a real woman from Dibrugarh, Assam, who had no clue she was being used as the face of an AI-powered deception. The entire account is now at the center of one of India’s most alarming cases of digital impersonation and AI exploitation.

Archita Phukan: How an AI-Backed Instagram Star Fooled the Internet

Babydoll Archi

The viral success began when a reel of Babydoll Archi lip-syncing to the Spanish hit “Dame Un Grrr” by Kate Linn began making the rounds. The internet, mesmerized by the seemingly confident and sultry woman on screen, responded with likes, shares, and a wave of curiosity. Soon, the account earned the coveted blue checkmark, collaborated with major influencers, and gained a cult following.

But behind the lens wasn’t Archita—it was Pratim Bora, a man from Tinsukia, Assam. Authorities say Bora, a remote-working mechanical engineer, used sophisticated AI image tools to modify a photo of a woman he once knew. He crafted a fictional digital identity—one that felt real enough to trick the masses.

The Dibrugarh Police, after a detailed digital investigation, traced the origins of the Instagram page to Bora, who was arrested shortly afterward.

According to police statements, the Instagram account initially served as a means for digital revenge against a woman from Bora’s past. “What started as targeted harassment quickly snowballed into a money-making operation,” noted SSP Sizal Agarwal.

Once the content began gaining engagement, Bora expanded the persona’s online presence. He linked the profile to a monetized Linktree page called Actual Fans, sharing exclusive AI-generated adult content. Within just five days, he had reportedly earned over ₹3 lakh—and investigations suggest that over time, his profits may have crossed ₹10 lakh.

Created in August 2020, the account went through multiple name changes, with its most recent identity being Amira Ishtara. The authorities have since seized Bora’s digital devices, SIM cards, and fake email accounts used in the operation. He allegedly relied on platforms like Midjourney and OpenAI to create hyper-realistic adult content from just one image.

S*x, AI, and the Digital Spectacle

Despite early suspicions from some users about the profile’s authenticity, the internet couldn’t resist the allure of Babydoll Archi. Speculations even involved U.S. adult film star Kendra Lust, further blurring the line between fabricated fiction and perceived reality.

The widespread acceptance of this AI-crafted persona reignited conversations around India’s deep-rooted discomfort with s*xuality. Even as discussions on AI ethics emerge globally, the Babydoll Archi case sheds light on how adult-themed AI content is entering mainstream platforms, masked as harmless entertainment.

The Impact of Poor S*x Education and Digital Awareness

Psychologist Shreya Kaul from Noida believes that India’s cultural hesitation to talk about s*x is what fuels both curiosity and misrepresentation. “The silence around s*xual education leaves space for harmful content to shape young minds,” she explains. Without real-world context or education, many first-time viewers treat adult content—including AI-created media—as a guide to intimacy, which often leads to distorted perceptions.

Easy access to smartphones and absence of formal s*x education have made adult videos a first point of s*xual awareness for many in India. However, the content often misrepresents emotional connections, portraying intimacy as performance rather than a human experience.

Women, especially, bear the brunt of this distortion—often facing public shaming, online trolling, and moral policing, whether they voluntarily express their s*xuality or are victims of false portrayal.

The Call for Regulation, Consent, and Digital Safety

The Babydoll Archi episode raises critical concerns: the unchecked power of AI tools, lack of laws surrounding deepfake abuse, and the dire need for digital literacy. But beyond technology, it highlights India’s resistance to open, informed discussions about privacy, consent, and s*x.

As artificial and real identities continue to merge online, we must ask—are we prepared to protect individuals from being turned into viral commodities without their knowledge?

If ignored, this isn’t just about AI or adult content anymore—it’s a tech-fueled human rights issue staring us in the face.
